The Challenge

The Netstar solution for Local Government was employed at Randwick City Council to help integrate a GPS solution with their existing enterprise technologies.

Randwick City Council needed real-time monitoring of their fleet of garbage trucks and drivers. Part of the challenge was to create a tailored solution to assist with their daily management on reporting of council waste and their fleet equipment. 

Randwick City Council needed configurable functionalities to suit their council requirement that Netstar created for them with our Local Government Solution.

Netstar’s Local Government solution is a specialised service for tracking and monitoring the assets of Local Government. Including Road Sweeping, Waste, Parks & Gardens, Sub-Contractor Management, GPS Fleet Monitoring Systems, Personal Monitoring, Mobile Phone Monitoring and SOS Alerting Functionality.

  • Full integrated Fleet Manager Pro solution with the council’s TechnologyOne Enterprise system and in-vehicle “rugged Tablet PC
  • Dependable GPS and mobile workforce communication system improving management and OH&S
  • 24 x 7 network support and ongoing assistance for service management
  • Netstar Trackers & IoT devices installed with an interface to Garabge vehicles side lift arms, on-board weight measurement, and tractors PTO.
  • Windows Mobile Tablet PC data entry terminal for vehicles 
  • Driver ID swipe RFID reader to identify driver and crew
  • Remote ‘panic alarm’ pendants for selected personnel
  • Simple deployment through Fleet Manager Pro software
  • A comprehensive suite of reports allowing the council to analyse the productivity of their mobile asset
