Working from home with Telematics
With the sudden shock to the economy due to the COVID-19 Virus, many employers are moving towards a work from home setup to try and slow the spread. Our team here at Netstar Australia has put together a course for anyone that has a telematics system, to show how to easily transition any telematics system and deliverables, to a remote working environment for staff.
One of the first things that can be done is starting by updating skills, using the telematics system with an online learning course. Quite often we find customers setting up their telematics system with just the basic information. Now could be the time to really update all information about vehicles, drivers and user details. We are currently offering such a course, free, here: Training: Working From Home with Telematics
What can I expect from this course?
Our Netstar Training and Support Team has created this online course to give you as much information as possible on how to effectively utilise your time Working from Home and setting up a more accurate Telematics system, topics covered include:
Initial Training and Setup for all staff
How to access the training portal and getting started
Update all your vehicle details
Loading up Geofences and Fuel Records
Brainstorming Ideas to reduce fuel costs, improving Safety, Maintenance and Productivity
Applying for Fuel Tax Credits Analysis
Preparing GPS Policy Guides for your staff
Ultimate Beginners Guide to Pinpoint WebAVM4
At Netstar we are always looking towards the future and how we can improve our services and create more robust systems to guard against uncertainty and rapid change. Hence why we are currently building Big Data Analysis Databases. These databases will be able to analyse vehicle data over much longer time periods, giving you a much better understanding of your vehicle utilisation, driver behaviour etc.
Why should I update my fleet details now?
The more information you can include about vehicles, assets and your fleet the better insights you will be able to get in the future. Now is the time to update this area, as most of us are self-isolating by working from home. One of the features from our Netstar Commercial Solution, utilising the Pinpoint AVM Software, is the ability to add custom details. A good example is loading up geofences into a telematics system. These could be as simple as locations of all your customers, work sites, no-go zones, areas you may want to be alerted on if someone enters or leaves an area, etc. and by updating these areas, you are utilising your GPS telematics system more accurately.
What is going to be discussed in the Brainstorming sessions of this course?
We are here to help and we understand that in this isolating environment the flow of ideas can stagnate. Our Netstar Training and Support Team can help you focus on different areas by brainstorming ideas to improve your business for when you do get back to a normal working environment. Areas such as ways to reduce fuel usage, improve safety, maintenance and productivity.
Why should I apply for Fuel Tax Credits now?
We can help you apply for Fuel Tax Credits, it’s a simple setup, no risk trial that identifies if you are likely to save funds with the improved accuracy of GPS. Legislation on fuel tax credits may change and it is best to get it done now. Remember that you can claim for historic mileage too. It will also be of assistance with cash flow in a slow economy, this can give you peace of mind during these uncertain times. Finally, the Working from Home with Telematics Course will touch on GPS Policy Guides and provide some background information about the various state-based laws that apply around Australia as well as some templated guides used by some of our own customers who have allowed us to use their information as a starting point.
We here, at Netstar Australia, will continue to diligently monitor and share with you helpful information, updates and notifications during this difficult time. We are all in this together, if you need further help and support here are our details:
