A global logistics and transportation company partnered with Netstar to improve visibility and control of its reusable package cages used by delivery drivers. Prior to the deployment, they had no view of the cages and their location across the country, leading to operational inefficiencies, replacement costs, and delays. Business Challenge

Package cages are a critical operational asset, enabling the safe and efficient transport of parcels throughout the delivery network. Prior to implementing asset tracking, our customer experienced limited visibility over cage movements once they left depots. Cages were unintentionally being left behind at customer premises, transport providers, and third-party logistics sites following deliveries or drop-offs. Without location data, they had no clear view of where cages were located across the network. Each cage represents a high-value asset, with replacement costs ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 per unit. With approximately 2,500 cages in circulation, the financial and operational impact of lost visibility was significant.
